Perkins' Aurangabad plant in India welcomes the first batch of engine production tasks
The first batch of engines off the assembly line in India
At the beginning of 2012, Perkins announced the construction of a 4000 series engine factory in India. Construction began in August 2012. Production facilities began to be installed in July 2013. Employees were recruited and trained in April 2014. Process verification was completed in June 2014. Perkins ushered in the first batch of engine production tasks at the Aurangabad plant in India, marking the official commissioning of the Aurangabad production facility in India, and will provide customers in Asia including China with more diversified quality in the future Power solution selection.
According to Mr. Simon Gray, product marketing manager of Perkins Engine Co., Ltd., the Aurangabad plant is of pioneering significance in terms of investment: the US$150 million investment will be through the establishment of extensive partnerships and the manufacture of world-class engine products Create growth; At the same time Perkins will also invest 20 million US dollars in high-quality tools and software programs. "At present (the first year of operation), the Aurangabad plant has a production capacity of 3,000 units, which is expected to have the potential to increase to 5,000 units in the future. In addition, we expect that by 2016, 85% of engine components will be localized." Ge Saimin told reporters Introduction.
4000 series engine
It is understood that Perkins 4000 series engines include a variety of 6, 8, 12, 16 cylinder diesel and spark ignition natural gas engines, and its design fully considers the most stringent technical requirements in the current power generation industry, especially in the standby power generation market; Power density, the power range is 750-2250 kVA (main power generation); and has a large number of common components, which provides convenient maintenance; no need to reduce power in high ambient temperature and high altitude environments; has excellent load bearing capacity, the first load step can be Up to 73%; it can provide a configuration that meets the requirements of the implementation of the emission regulation market (the best fuel consumption ratio), and can also provide a configuration that can meet different emission regulations in various regions.
Natural gas will become the main source of power generation in the future
In the past two years, smog has hit many cities in China, making the government and the people "see" the urgency of environmental protection. On September 9th, Premier Li Keqiang delivered his views on environmental protection at the 2014 Summer Davos Forum. He pointed out that the most prominent problems for China are water, air and soil pollution. However, we have to face the fact that traditional energy sources have varying degrees of air pollution. According to ExxonMobil's "Energy Outlook Report 2040", by 2040, global electricity demand will increase by more than 80%, and natural gas will become the main source of power generation.
Take Perkins 4008-30TRS as an example. The 4008-30TRS is a turbocharged, air-to-water supercharged and inter-cooled eight-cylinder in-line engine. The design is based on the 4000 series that Perkins has long recognized by customers for its outstanding performance. Features include: cost-effective and durable operation, excellent power and weight Compared with mechanical efficiency and greatly improved emissions. It meets the needs of the power generation industry for clean and efficient gas engines and is the engine of choice for the power generation industry today. This engine is equipped with the current oil return injection cooling system to strictly control the piston temperature. The components have a longer service life, increase the durability of the engine, and reduce maintenance time, all of which help to reduce the life cycle cost. At the same time, customers can choose the specifications suitable for natural gas or biogas to ensure that the engine can maintain the best performance when using specific fuels.
In addition, to ensure better after-sales support for gas engines, Perkins has set up 6 dedicated 4000 series gas engine excellence centers managed by experts in major regions around the world to provide complete support services to meet specific engine needs. Among the six centers of excellence, there are two in China (operated by Perkins agent partners Lei Shing Hong Machinery and Weijia Power), which shows how much Perkins attaches importance to the Chinese market.
